Description
Introducing the only ISO/TS 16949:2002 training course that combines AIAG's Supplier Auditor Certification
with Plexus International's RABQSA-Certified ISO 9001:2000 Lead Auditor Training. This is the highest level
of auditor training available to automotive suppliers today. This is a supplier version of the course that is
delivered by those who train the Certification Body Auditors at AIAG.
This course meets or exceeds the training requirements for:
- The training portion of the requirements for RABQSA certification of individual QMS Auditors,
- AIAG's ISO/TS 16949:2002 Supplier Auditor Certification, and
- Ford and General Motors Customer-Specific Internal Quality Auditor qualifications.
This course provides a unique opportunity to attain two certificates with one course!

New content for 2006 includes the International Automotive Task Force's (IATF's) expectations for auditor
performance defined in Certification Body Auditor Competency Criteria (what an automotive auditor needs to
know and do to be able to audit accurately and consistently) and Rules for achieving IATF recognition 2nd
Edition. Topics addressed in the training include:

- Auditing customer specifics

ISO/TS 16949:2002 satisfies quality system requirements for the automakers belonging to the International
Automotive Task Force (IATF), which includes all automotive OEM's in Germany, France, United Kingdom,
Italy, United States and Canada. This courses focuses on auditing via the automotive process approach the
requirements of the Technical Specification with linkages to core tools (FMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC and APQP)
and customer requirements (DaimlerChrysler, Ford, and GM), and how all impact auditing principles and
practices based on ISO 19011, Rules 2nd Edition and Certification Body Auditor Competency Criteria.
Length: 5 days (38.5 hours not including written examination time)
CEUs: 3.85
Prerequisites: A series of questions to be answered by the student and turned in prior to or at the beginning of
the course is required to demonstrate understanding of ISO 9001:2000.
Requirements for Successful Completion
There are two elements involved in the evaluation and examination for successful completion of participants of this course:

The continual evaluation of the student's attitudes, auditing capability, performance as team members
during role-playing, and communication skills (this is done independently by all instructors involved with the
class).

A written examination, which covers the content of ISO/TS 16949:2002 and the application of audit
principles and practices to ISO 19011. 75% of the examination grade is based on questions that require
essay responses that test comprehension of the audit process and the application of ISO/TS 16949:2002,
and the remainder of the examination grade is based on multiple choice, true/false or short answer
questions.
Certificates

Those who pass will receive an AIAG ISO/TS 16949:2002 Supplier Auditor Certificate and an
RABQSA certificate of successful completion, which satisfies the training requirement for individual
QMS auditor certification. Both certificates are valid for 3 years.
- Those who do not pass will receive a certificate of attendance valid for 3 years.

Note: The time allotted for taking the examination is two hours. Strict adherence to the time limit is to be
maintained. However, the trainer may allow a student whose primary language is not the language in which the
course is conducted, or a student with a particular disability that adversely affects the student's capability to
complete the examination in the allotted time, up to 30 additional minutes for taking the written examination.
The only reference materials allowed during the examination are a copy of ISO/TS 16949:2002, AIAG
Reference Manuals (APQP/PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC), training course materials and any personal notes
made by the student during the course.
